A relationship links a client to a debtor and sets the terms that apply when you purchase that client's invoices against that debtor.
Step 1 – Open the client
In the left-hand menu, click Companies. Use the Clients tab or the search bar to find the client, then click the name to open the profile.
Step 2 – Open Relationships
Click the Relationships tab to see every debtor this client is linked to, along with the term, credit limit and NOA status for each. Click Edit on any row to change it.
To add one, click New Relationship in the top-right corner.
Step 3 – Choose the debtors
The left panel is a searchable list of debtors. Tick every debtor you want to link – you can create several relationships at once, and they will all take the settings you choose on the right.
Step 4 – Set the relationship
On the right, under Set Relationship:
- Terms – a term that applies only to invoices under this relationship. Leave blank to use the client's default term.
- Payment Terms – the days you expect the debtor to pay in.
- Credit Limit and Credit Limit Approved.
- Ineligible Days – the age at which invoices become ineligible.
- Credit Rating – optional.
- Send NOA – set to No to opt out of the automatic notice.
Step 5 – Create
Click Create.
About NOAs
If Send NOA is Yes, a notice of assignment is emailed to the debtor on creation – but only when both of these are true:
- an NOA document is uploaded to the client's profile, and
- the debtor profile has an NOA email address.
If either is missing, no NOA goes out. The Relationships tab shows First NOA Sent and Last NOA Sent so you can confirm.
