Assigning someone to a client and setting up their commission are two separate jobs. The role says who owns the account; the commission template says what they earn.
Part 1 – Assign a role on the client
- Go to Companies, open the Clients tab and click the client's name.
- Select Client Roles from the list on the left, then click Add.
- Choose the Role – Account Executive, Collection Agent or Sales Executive.
- Choose the User, then click Create.
There is no commission percentage on this screen. Commission is set up separately, in Part 2.
Where to see who owns the account
The client's Commission Partners, Account Executive and Sales Executive show at the bottom of Company Info, and in the Client Snapshot at the top of the client's Dashboard tab. A dash means none is assigned.
Part 2 – Build a commission template
- Go to Settings › Commissions › Commission Templates.
- Click Create Commission Template.
- Give it a Template Name and Description, and set the Base Commission % – the share of fees collected that this template pays.
- Add tiers or bonuses if the arrangement needs them, then save.
Because templates are reusable, build one per commission arrangement rather than one per person.
Part 3 – Assign the template to a client
- Go to Settings › Commissions › Association.
- Find the client or broker. The list shows how many commission templates and referral partners each one has.
- Select it and click Assign, or use the edit icon to change an existing assignment.
Related screens
- Commission Partners – referral partners who earn a share.
- Commission Bonuses – bonus rules on top of the base rate.
Good to know
Commission calculates from the date the assignment is made. Backdating an arrangement does not backdate the calculation.
