Teams

Teams group clients so that staff work a defined book rather than the whole portfolio. If you have more than a handful of people, this is how you stop everyone seeing everything.

Creating a team

  1. Click Settings in the bottom-left corner.
  2. Open the Teams tab.
  3. Click Create Team in the top-right corner.
  4. Give it a name and a description, then save.

Teams list with team name, description, creator and number of clients

The list shows each team's name, description, who created it, and N° of clients currently assigned.

Assigning clients

Clients are attached to a team from the client's own profile, on its Teams tab. A client can belong to more than one team, which is useful when an account is shared between, say, a collections team and a sales team.

What teams change

Teams are about focus, not security on their own. They narrow what a user works with day to day; what a user is allowed to do is still set by their role under Factor Users › Roles & Permissions.

Use both: the role decides the actions, the team decides the accounts.

A note on naming

Name teams after how you actually divide the book – by region, by collector, by industry – rather than after individuals. People move; the book usually does not.
